hi all i am thinking about buying a 4motion any one have any advice on what they are like to live with also can you replace the stereo with an after market head unit

Not sure about the 4-motion but i know you can change the stereo, there pretty easy to change yourself if you have removal keys.

Like said, stereo can be easily changed and if you want 4 wheel drive then the 4 mo is awesome, not very tunable tho.  1.8t if you want more power for your money

don't they run at 204bhp as standard with 4 wheel drive thats plenty of power for me more is not allways better my mate has a 180bhp mk2 and has trouble getting the power down having said that someone has offererd me a mk2 g60 rhd  running 240bhp on two wheel drive very tempting but heavy on tires i bet

Yep they do, but 4M's (along with most other 4WD's) suffer from more 'transmission loss' in power, than their 2wd counterparts.  Also, don't forget that great big lump hanging over the front wheels which = Understeer City! :grin

As said, the turbo's are a lot more tunable (for not much cash) & they're more agile, too.  You'd have to spend mega bucks to get a big power increase with the 4M's.

If 4wd is a must, then have you looked at S3's?  They've come down a lot in price over recent years.  My next car, I reckon.....  1.8T + 4wd. Nice :evil: :grin:

I ran one for a few weeks as a 'fill in' car. 
Didn't rate it that highly - seemed softer / stodgier than the 1.8t and drank fuel at an alarming rate. If you get low 30's ina 1.8t 150, you'll be low 20's in this - makes a big difference.

If fuel costs don't worry you, then the engine is quite sweet and nice to rev

Didn't float my boat, but a colleague loved his.

Yeah, it's just the thought of the remap to 265/270 bhp & the 4WD to get the power down, which makes me :drool: :laugh:

Have got a fuel card, so MPG is not much concern. :smug:

Combined with some suspensions tweaks (and the 265 remap) you could have a stealthy R32 beater... Now we're talking.... If I had a fuel card, my outlook on cars would change dramatically.
