The Pierburg 2E2 Carb fitted to a standard 1.6 and 1.8 Driver is a twin progressive Choke.
Easiest way to describe how this works is you have 3 jets (i think)....

also it has 2 Venturis... (flaps) 1st is open when driving normally to allow limited fuel / air mixture.
2nd flap opens (2nd Choke) when you accelerate harder to allow loads more fuel / air in to engine.
The Pierburg has more moving parts and several Jets (which block up)
Whereas the Weber only has 1 single jet i think so less moving parts.
Id seriously recomend sticking with the 2E2. When its setup and running correctly it is better than the Weber in my views.
To get real performance from a Carb Car your better off fitting Twin 40 Webers. These are two carbs mounted side by side to each other, but expect seriously poor MPG and they need to set up spot on or its bye bye pistons!
