My company car is a 55 plate Passat 2.0 Sport Saloon until next week when I get an 06 plate. but i can pretty much take home anything I like as long as it's taxed.  I'll sometimes bring home interesting part exchanges - Range Rovers, mercs - sometimes complete randoms like Focuses just because it's easy to get bored drivign brand new cars all the time. .  It's useful if I need a seven seater or if the suns out and I need a convertible. I brought our GTi home quite a few times recently and our Touaregs.. I had a week in a mark 4 R32 just before christmas. It's pretty cool but you do get a bit spoilt and kinda forget how lucky you are sometimes. It's a nice perk to outbalance everyone moaning at us

VWmd, when do you get one in mate? You will have to bring it round and we'll take it for i thrash so i can give a more informed opinion

July mate. 2.0T Sport apparantly.  You know i'll be bringing one home as soon as the sun comes out.

YAY!!  Bring it round, can take it for a road test to the pub! Soon as the sun comes out.....hmm could be a long wait then.

Degree? Not with me they didn't  :embarassed:

Minimum age varies from dealer to dealer. Usually 21 for insurance. We've got a 21 year old at our place and he can drive anything upto 150bhp. I'm an old git (27) so can drive anything.

Most dealers just want someone who's mature enough (snigger snigger) to speak to people of all ages from all backgrounds confidently.

I've been selling for almost eight years now in at different places and am still learning. There's plenty of sales training bull that I could reel off but as I said before. Car sales is 10% car and 90% sales. I don't know everything about my product (and beleive me people ask everything), but if you build up a good rapport with your punter, you can read through the brochures together and nine times out of ten they wont realise it's because you don't know either!

If you're genuinly interested, write to all the dealers in your area. You may get a couple of interviews but you'll rarely find decent car sales jobs advertised because we're a close knit lot in the trade and we all move around so the best jobs get taken.

PM me if you want some more advice neaty. No probs..

I really do want to get into it, and pref VW more than anywhere else seeing as though i know a thing or two about them (hey says). I have written my CV and a covering letter which isnt to shabby so i will send it off and see what they say. I am on 19 which is one of my concerns.

thanks very much for the advice
