Hi,

I'm back, fitted the Boge Springs and Sachs gas shocks yesterday with G60 top mounts.

The springs lower it by 20mm and it sits perfect!

Now heres what I think:  The car feels a lot more solid, hard ride, when you hit a pot hole but again it feels solid and not crashy.

Now the bad news, don't know if this is normal but the car feels a little bouncy over uneven road and can make you feel a bit sick over some time.  Let my wife drive the car and being a passenger was not all that comfortable.

The bloke who fitted the kit said it will settle and become a bit more comfortable but I don't know.

Is this bounce due to the springs being crap or the shocks?

It handles really well and the steering used to be quite light but now its nice and tight.

I'm already thinking of changing the springs but don't know if the Eibachs will be softer and if i can get them in 20mm.

Should I wait some time or will the ride not get and softer?

Cheers guys.

I got my kit from GSF, was friking robbed I tell thee.

BUT I did manage to take some bits back that I didnt need, however not as cheap as you got it mate.

Had them fitted about a month ago.
I think the ride on a smooth surface is quite nice, holds the road well, doesnt over bounce on sudden changes in the road...but it feels a bit hard and not greatly comfy driving it now...which is a shame.

I definatly cant be arsed to change them over for better ones because I dont have the cash to do that really.

Where did you get your shocks from at that price?

BTW was that halfords thing with a credit card only?

The springs will settle over a few hundred miles. I found the boge kit from GSF had a really hard harsh ride. Changing the springs for eibach ones is a good idea as they are some of the best springs you can buy. I think they do a 20 or 30mm drop on a mk2, about ?130.

I got mine from vwspares.co.uk, checked the springs side by side and they were even, the car sits perfect but still not happy with the ride on uneven roads, maybe they will get a bit softer after a few miles.

Will the Eibach springs be a softer ride? if not then I will end up putting back the originals.

I wouldn't say the eibachs are soft, they are firm but comfortable.
