Its too cold!

Ok, just a quick question...
My car takes about 15 - 20 mins of idle to get the temp gauge to read halfway when leaving car without driving it.
Is this about right?
also, when its at halfway and i start to drive it the temp drops to the white part in a short time!!?! i know its cold weather but this cant be right? (wont get hotter than this while driving.)
Also the heater inside gets warm, not hot! 

Could it be i need to flush the coolant? it cant be Thermostat because at 1/2 way the fan operates so it must be working?

I wont be of much use then! 1st thing would be to flush the system. Stick a hoze pipe down every oraface you can get to! Time for your colonic my driver!

Will brave the cold weather outside in a bit and give it a go! Finish my cup of coffee first though me thinks!

Heater.....do a search on 'heater' on here, for some tips on ridding airlocks....It will then work warmer,

sounds liek the cooling system is working which is good but the reading to drop that low is abit dodgy.

coolant flush and 50/50 mix with anti freeze then get back to us i think

1. You shouldn't warm the engine up by sitting there idling, you should drive off straight away
2. It sounds like the thermostat is missing or stuck open to me

Maybe, would that effect the Auto Choke? cause its operated by water temp isnt it? Would explain the missfires, spluttering, and stalling at junctions?!
