hey toro, welcome to the site and good luck in your test

dont be swayed by the mk2ers on here! if its a mk3 you want then stick with it

mines a black 1.4, tho its not for sale. Just proves there are black, 3 door 1.4s out there, be prepared to travel and you will find it! I had to go to worcester from norwich to get it but well worth the effort!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Hey, I am new to this forum, and new to golf's in general, in fact I'm new to cars lol.

I have my test on Wednesday, and am still looking for a first car, I really want a 1.4 golf (preferably black), I can't afford the insurance on GTi though, so if anyone can point me in the direction of somewhere I can purchase a golf, I would be very much obliged.

I dont know your age but im guessing your in the same boat as me (Around 18, No NCB)

and i've found that if you get a mk1 Golf GTi  the insurance is quite low (About the same as a 1.4 mk3 golf!) and you get the cool retro stylings (like that in my sig!).

and if you pay monthly it works out as about £150 a month - not a huge drop out of the wages eh? Of course, its all politics and depends where you live and what you work as (Changing my current job "unemployed" to one that i've applied for "Police Officer" dropped the price by £400 - but putting it down as my old job "Computer Engineer" it only dropped it by £100!)

Thanks for the input, mate.

Will have a look into them, the only reason I was after a Mk3 is because they look nicer :D

Wowser ! mk3 nicer looking than a mk1 ! I can see you're going to fit in well with the mk3 crowd around here.

As you're new you may well not know about this site, so have a look at this www.dubmodder.com click on ready near the orange mk1 and you can mod away to see how your better looking than a mk1 mk3 will look.
