Leather in a mk2 has a couple of good and bad points.

bad:

Temperatures - freezing cold mornings, sit on them and your bollox retract back into your pelvis cavity. Hot days, you get out with either the chair welded to your thighs or thrid degree burns.

Cracking - ages of the chairs means they start cracking in some places, usually bolsters etc.

Good:

They look f**king ace

They are wipe clean

They look f**king ace.

nah baz we don't need them as we get the heat from the edge of your pants drive we have, whereas you need the heat as the most exciting ride you mk3 drivers have is going round a corner faster than 15mph.
