i had to look  :lipsrsealed:

but i think the arm gets stuck,

1st click outside front lights
2nd click both sets of lights

pull arm full beam

let go of  arm inside set go off, wiggle in abit because full beam and blue light stay on :)

ok so logic says i need a new arm ? :)

ok i got to ask, blue light is full beam  :embarassed: right ?

Yup blue light means main/full/soopa bright beam
The inner lights will come on with the main beam, remember pulling on the stalk will click between full and dipped beam, even if you do so with the lights off.
It is supposed to 'stick' on when you click the stalk towards you, thats how you turn on the main beam ;)

You might want to double check that ;)

nope it don't stick :(

but maybe thats where its going wrong, if i pull stick up there are no clicks :(

what i will add, is that the car has been had ago at, at some point before i had it :), all the housing around key barrel is broken, steering column is held on by tie clips, well it goes around center part. so its took some punishment, maybe its knackered the arm as well.

but that shouldn't be too hard to replace  now i just had to find a scrap yard :)

Ah probably!  The surround is held on with 2 screws, and once you take the wheel off (24mm nut) the stalks are held on with 3 screws :)

Only thing to make sure of is you get the right ones, early MK2s have the hazard switch on the dash and late ones have the switch on the column.  You need to make sure you get the same type :)

i now have headlights

this car is so tempermental   i had a fiddle like someone said about the keybarrel, ok so to get normal beam

put lights to second setting, flick full beam up, flick it a few times till it un-sticks and i get headlights

hey it works ;)

next the sunroof, better not wiggle that tho

take care
