everyone has those "i hate that fecking car" moments, especially when its not running.

i can 100% guarantee though that when its fixed (pull yer finger out!), you'll p!ss on some chavved up french piece of tossrag, and find yourself smiling while patting the dashboard thinking "god i love this fecking car!"

That happened to me just this morning,...ahh it was such a great feeling, almost poetic....keep the car dood ...

yeah slick, keep it.
I know how sh!tty it can be when car owes u loadsa money, and you've spent all your time an effort on it but think of the satisfaction you'll get *when* (not if!) you have it sorted.
you WILL have it sorted. cos i really wanna see this beast at some point in the future.
It can be sooo frustrating but you gotta think now its prob gonna be something simple in the end.

keep the car, good luck dudey....

being fairly new round here I'm not sure of the spec of your car Slick, but from what i've picked up it sounds lovely (when working at least ), knowing that generally people don't pay any extra for modded cars you won't see a return on any of your investment - so the potential £250 it may cost to have fixed is money well spent as (if you're anything like me at least) you'll only end up wanting to throw a load of money at whatever you buy next - better the devil you know I say  - i'm sure you'll regret it if you chose to get rid!

I would keep it and get it sorted (easier said than done i know)
but i was in a similar situation when my first valver started to die. It was off the road for while, until i bought a new part thinking that it might be the solution. When i did get to drive it i realised that it was all worth while. Which i am sure u will realise when i do get it running again. Then it would die again then i would buy a new part and so on and so on.

then when i did get it running the MOT and tax expired D'OH, after failing its 3rd MOT i decided to give up on it, i dnt regret it simply because i got a better valver shortly after. But the time in between cars was painful.
KEEP IT

I know exactly what you are going through - mine has been a pain in the arse for the last couple of weeks, seems to be one thing after another...........Still not exactly decided what to do, been hankering after another Mercedes (my last car) as it seemed a bit more reliable (having said that I spent over £600 on the Merc before selling it for £400!). Cars always go wrong - they seem to be designed that way................

You just have to decide whether to spend money getting it fixed or spend (probably more) money getting another car.

Thing is with Mk2s is they have a way of sparking off conversations with total strangers. It's happened to me twice just this week - both people going on about what great cars they are. Never had a car that has this effect on people, but it's kinda nice and I would miss it............

Nice Mk2s (like yours) do seem to be going up a bit in value, so that is another reason to hang on to it for the moment. You never know, you might get the money you have invested back one day if you play your cards right........

and if thats not enough to tempt u into keepin it then you could always have a mk3! you'd soon want ur valver back im sure, from all the abuse youd get on here alone!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..
