Nope, PAS was an optional extra until the late 89 ('90) model. Then it became standard.

i think that power steering was an option up to some time in 1990
electric windows became non standard on the 16v between aug 89 and oct 90

and the 8v got full 16v spec in oct 1991

Hmm, pretty certain mines a 90's spec (Aug 89, and everything as Haynes says for that spec ), and hazzard's on the dash (mind the steering column has been modded).

Everything became an option in 1990 except pas. Even electric windows went back on the options list before returning as standard in 1991 (mine has keep fit ones...) Were the BBS standard on 1990 spec 16v ?

My F reg '89 has 90 spec doors(no quarter lights and mirrors further forward) and small bumpers. I was told by a chap at the VW garage that '89 is the only year they were factory that way. Anyone know the truth to that?

My 1992 8v hasnt got electric windows. Im thinking PAS came standard and electrics where still an option?
