So you ever watched a Gumball rally? Or getaway in stockholm? Notice what there doing? one of the biggest forms of street racing around, infact that makes out meets look like kids playing in a park compaired to the driving. Watch a Tekademics video from america (they use the 850BHP yellow M3 from DTMpower.net as a camera car) now thats dam fast racing and dam risky too, cutting traffic at 140+ MPH in porches, BMWs and farraris

I don't think because some people have driven/ raced in America, or Stockholm, or anywhere else tbh that it should make it OK for somone to endanger the lives of others by racing here.

Valid point. Cant argue with that, Its not right, But find me an alternative and ill hapily switch, but until somthing is done about track day prices, track day insurance prices and all the other high prices that effect cars these days expect to see more and more people in the same position as me on the road. The goverment and racing bodies only have themselfs to blame for this. Its been proven that free 1/4 mile strip days are effective ways to stomp out street racing and the track owners cover the costs of free entery from sponsership and on site retailers etc. This has been explained to local authorities before who responded by shutting down the website who attempted to solve the problem and sweaping it under the carpet.

not that i really want to get involved but.....
those high insurance prices are there for a reason. and its not to stop you having fun its for the same reason we all b!tch about high insurance prices on our cars. its because the streets are full of tits who drive around un-insured, stupid kids who think because they have a license it must mean they can drive, people racing, people going to cruises and f**king up, people drink driving, people driving beyond their means and the list goes on.
i'm sure if it was free to go on a track these same dickheads would still race like idiots on the streets anyway so you can't blame that for the reason people street race.

i think the point lewy was trying to make was that your attitude makes you a boy racer regardless of what you say on here. you will have to admit to the amount of times you've posted about stupid things you've done while driving and also the amount of time you talk about going to cruises. you may have left that behind now but often the way you talk makes out that you are some kind of invincible kid who lives to drive like a tool, go to crusies/races to watch the carnage and pick up cruise slappers. so you can't then argue the opinion that some one has formed of you when you've spent the last week going on about how your car is getting "featured" in a boy racer mag at a cruise!
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

Can i just say i love going to cruises, because most of the cars are that crap that they become good, its more for a comedy thing rather than to actually enjoy the cars!   :laugh:awesome!

i think we all like to put our foot down occasionally, its the whole point of having golf gti's. I for one always stick to the speed limits on normal roads i.e 30's and 40's and 50's but when it comes to twisty B roads i will have a do if i am being honest!, in fact the roads i tend to go on are that twisty it is pretty hard to get above 60 anyway.

but it goes with out saying that when you are taking un-necessery risks it becomes un-necessarily dangerous! I will always drive to a point where i am comfortable with what i am doing. If you are getting to a point where you are driving like a c*ck then it defys the point in having a fast car, to enjoy it!

Don't wanna get involved in the "discussion" that has formed in this post, just wanted to comment on the original post subject - this month's Redline magazine. Not a terrible read I thought, quite a few VWs mentioned throughout including the 5 Golfs run by the magazine staff which was surprising (thought they would all drive Corsas ). Obviously there was a lot of crap in there, but good feature on the TVR Golf and a free plug for the site which can't be bad...........
