Dealers & Servicing
« on: 16 April 2026, 18:15 »
Seriously considering NOT extending my all in service plan as I really can't face dealing with the Milton Keynes dealership any more.

The service is generally shocking, they never answer the phone and phoned me this evening to tell me the loan car I had booked for tomorrow (in Feb!) is no longer available when I take it in for its service & MOT tomorrow.

It's been a while since I went independent.  Last used Inde-Tech in Milton Keynes but it was a looong time ago on my old GTD.  Anyone recommend a reliable independent VAG specialist around my area that I can go to in future?

APS in Brackley feature favourably in many youtube videos. Not used them myself but might be worth a look - https://www.autops.co.uk/

100% recommend APS, lovely people there!!

Sounds like a dealer issue though as I've used all in for years and it's fine

If your "service" is just the basic crap the all in plan gives you then probably you don't even need a vw specialist.

Any garage can change the oil and the spark plugs....

The only thing you get from a main dealer that you don't get elsewhere is recall work and warranty stuff.

The flip side is of course apart from being hard to book into (they are all currently dealing with a major recall for several vw models at once...) is that they will try to tell you that your brakes, tyres and god knows what else need replacing and pressure the hell out of you to agree to it.

so true... had my mother in law's new t-roc serviced last month, all the usual stuff but they did ring her, asking her whether it was alright to also change both front blade wipers for something like 100 quid, i believe she must still not know how to operate those wipers so it's a miracle how parts need changing from new even if they have not been used
