Car disconnected from vw account?

Had a weird email from vw

Volkswagen AG: The status of your vehicle Golf has changed   
 
    Hello Fred,
 
    
Your vehicle Golf was either removed from your user account (see 1) or connected to another user account (primary user change, see 2). This means that you can no longer access the mobile online services with your previous user account.

And when I get in the car it says I'm not the primary user and would I like to be?

I can only assume that as I don't have any vw services paid for since my first three years ended that 24 months later they've disabled or deleted my vw account.

Bit sh1t no warning or real explanation from vw... But that only supports my opinion of them since owning this car.

Going into my vw account... They've done something probably to do data privacy that means they've deactivated the free basic online services... And I've reactivated it but it means going through bloody two key shuffle again.

I had this exact thing a few weeks ago Fred and I too found it odd that the timing was strange.

Maybe someone in some tech department is trying to drum up business for their awful online services after the three years, bit odd how it took an extra 12 moths for it to kick in though.
