Just curious - how many people use the voice and chat controls

You need the vw one to control anything on the car itself. The voice control was included on the early UK MK8's and then later was a paid for option... What reg is your car?

Mines a March 22 car and I'm sure you're correct, it was a paid for option.

I just wondered if there is a way I can control the temperature settings via voice, more out of curiosity than anything else.

I used the free trial of voice but it doesn't work on the temperature or air-con settings, I found it only worked on volume, I have a MK8 Golf.

I don't know if you can set a particular temp, but certainly you can say things like "I'm cold" or "my feet are cold" and it will turn it up and direct it where you tell it. And it knows if its the passenger or the driver saying it. It will also turn on the heated seats or steering wheel heater too.

TBH though its so sluggish to respond and often gets it wrong that its quicker to just reach the button and change it yourself...

Mine just said something along the lines of "function unavailable" if I asked it to turn on air-con or change temperature etc.

At the time I found some info online which confirmed those functions wouldn't work on my car, that was probably 6 to 9 months ago though so it might have changed since because I now have options for Dynamic lighting and full beam assist on the VW shop.
