MK 7.5 ACC not working due to rodent damage

Thought I’d post on here in case anyone else randomly happens to face the same issue. I lost my ACC entirely a year ago and have just got round to taking it into my local VW to diagnose and repair. Thought they were going to charge me loads to recalibrate it but it turns out a rodent had bitten through one of the wires that attached to the engine which had deactivated the ACC. They fixed it up with a bit of tape and it started working again. I had to pay the diagnosis fee (£270 so still quite steep) but they didn’t charge anything for the fix itself  - I thought it was going to be much more so was relieved. I’ve seen posts on here and other forums about ACC issues but never heard of rodent damage being the cause so thought I’d share on here just in case anyone else it may be of help to someone.

Not sure about rodent damage (though my mates Porsche had about £3K worth of damage when mice chewed into the main loom), someone once posted a picture of spiders living inside the sensor on the grille that sent the ACC daft.
£270 is a bit steep for a diagnostic but at least the fix was cheap.
