Queenstown and DCC
« on: 07 July 2025, 20:56 »
Looking for a used mk8.5 GTI for the misses. Is it safe to assume cars optioned with Queenstown alloys have DCC aswell? It seems on the configurator you are forced to select DCC with the Queenstown alloys. Is that a new change or always been that way? I have searched the forum but not getting any hits, I'm probably being stupid! I called up a VW dealership earlier and asked someone in sales, it almost blew their mind

Any info on the subject would be appreciated!

Hey.  Yes, selecting Queenstown wheels has always required DCC as a mandatory option.  I also believe if you select another style of 19" wheel, it requires the sports suspension for 19" wheels option.  Not sure why there are different requirements for different styles of 19" wheel, but that is what VW chose to do!!
Current: Golf GTI 8.5. Pure white/black, pan roof, Queenstown, DCC, HK, Area view, spare wheel
Gone: 2018 Golf GTI 7.5 performance pack with standard spec
Gone: 2016 Golf GTE 7
Gone: 2013 Audi A3 S-Line
Gone: 2010 Golf GT TDI

it's better to check the equipment through VIN number. Someone could've bought wheels separately.

You can order a Clubsport with Queenies and no DCC however a regular GTI 265 has Queenstown and DCC as a package in the UK. Whether it’s down to the weight of the wheels or some other marketing reason I have no idea.
Dogman12 has a point though, it’s not impossible that a set could have been retrofitted to a GTI minus DCC.

We went to see an approved used GTI with the Queenstowns (it had DCC) and somehow walked away from the dealership about to order a new Clubsport.

I just had a look on the Irish configurator, and it doesn't force you to select DCC here. It only stipulates that "sports suspension" is added (which is "free").

So this seems to be another weird one in the UK configurator.
MK8.5 GTI Clubsport. Moonstone grey. Queenstown 19’s. DCC. Harmon Kardon sound. Pano roof.
