It does sound very odd.
Something isn’t right for sure.

The acceleration of the mk8 is much crisper than the mk7 R owing mostly to improved throttle response.
I find the best way to keep the ECU on its toes is to vary the drive modes so it doesn’t get stuck in an assumption of your driving style. Same goes for the TCU.

As for the slipping at such low speeds, that should be easy for a tech to diagnose. He/she(/they/them  ) should sit in next to you then drive the car afterwards to try and replicate.

Trouble is, even if they fix the car, once you’ve decided you don’t like a car you likely never will.

Maybe it’ll skid into a wall at 10mph (not injuring anyone obviously) writing the car off so you can buy a mk7.5 instead

As for the cornering or on roundabouts, don't think I'm hard steering at all as I'm approaching slowly but travelling at around a constant 10-15 mph with no touching of the brakes or accelerating to coast around then the front or backend slips out, just slightly to startle me but not to the point the car is way off track.

so with no throttle input its sliding out at 15mph or less?

That can't even be possible can it?

You couldn't induce a slide on a "normal" road surface at 15mph even on full lock???

Its not ESC kicking in is it? The Mk8 has per wheel VDM, unlike the Mk7. Could it be ESC intervention?

If you have a particular scenario where you can reproduce this problem (and safely) try it with ESC set to sport and even try ESC set to off....

There have been a couple of funnies with VDM doing things that aren't technically wrong but do upset experienced drivers!

Try giving it some gentle throttle, I bet it doesn’t happen.

The roads are cold, there’s lots of moisture around- that, combined with inappropriate tyres is probably causing the issue when you’re trying to coast around.

I would be surprised if there’s a problem with your car.

I have a mk8 GTi who new had hankook tyres on and was never an issue they are not as good as ps5's  currently on it but can't believe any tyres are that bad to lose traction at that speed on any golf tbh.

I’ve been wondering if there’s an update to this too, have the dealership had a look at the car yet Adekil?
