Hello all,
So my Mk7 was not due for its DSG box service, for a good few miles yet. But opted to buy the bits and do it myself.
Really straightforward, and simple.
Mine had 10K left, before it was required, according to the service history (FVWSH).
But as I don't trust garages to do this work effectively. It's too easy to charge, but not do the work, and as a punter, you're none the wiser, I did it myself, in 2 hours.
Saved a fortune too.
The fluid pump from amazon was around 80 quid, the genuine VW fluid & Filter was around 60-70 quid I think, and I already had VCDS, from my A7 days.
I went and purchased the Filter housing spanner too, so i didn't have to remove the battery. Again, not a lot of money and makes it that bit easier.
The fluid was nasty when it came out. Glad I did it. Gearbox changes better now.
