Very tempted by one of these, but I would really need a wireless charging solution too. Doubt very much you could split the USB into 2 though, one for WAA and one for the a charging pad!?

Interesting question, not sure. Would probably need to be some sort of hub, and the car might not support that. The battery drain for wireless AA doesn't seem that bad, though.

I agree that the AA battery drain is very small but if you were going on a longer journey, you just need something like this to plug in to the the 12V socket.

Could just go for the oem wireless charger, https://www.vw-retrofit.co.uk/product/golf-mk7-wireless-charger/ and retain the usb/aux connection for the AA

Yes, that's the way I've gone. Drain isn't enough to worry about on everyday journeys, and a longer journey I wouldn't mind the extra few seconds it takes to plug a phone in. In fact, I wanted wireless AA to connect without taking my phone out of my pocket. A wireless charger every journey would add that back in!

I would agree it’s a great piece of kit. Easy to setup and logs into Android auto every time after starting  the car, giving me google maps, Waze and Spotify seamlessly.

Anyone actually fitted one of these and care to share how easy it is to fit.

Also anyone got a part number for this, would like to see if i can get one cheaper from Germany?

It's a 1x negative and 1x positive wire to the fusebox

Just received mine from AliExpress in about a week! Works perfectly so far. £20! Going to buy a charging pad that I can fit into my 3D printed phone holder so that it can charge too.
