Total gimmick unless you really can't park. As it tracks the cars surrounding it and not the kerb, it could mince wheels up against the kerb depending how some of the other cars are parked (haven't done this myself, but seen the aftermath on a colleague's car (Cupra Leon), Had 3 cars with it, just tried it twice on one of the cars. Would not spec it out of choice.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

With dipping mirrors and a rear camera, a bit irrelevant IMO.

Didn’t bother specing this on my golf but have it on an A3, so assume it’s the same system. It works every time and parks perfectly, never hits the curb. If I’m feeling lazy it’s great.

If you use it to parallel park between 2 cars and one of those cars is up on the kerb then it's highly likely the system will kerb those alloys as it uses the 2 cars for all reference points.

Like I said, never been a problem so far. Haven’t tried it with someone parked up on the curb though, will have to see what happens!

thanks, but, I'm pretty sure mine does not have self parking, after pressing the parking menu, the only thing that shows is the park assist sensors picture which tells me if I'm too close to anything. :undecided:
