Clubsport Rear Spoiler for Standard MK8 GTi
« on: 10 November 2022, 23:21 »
Hi

My name is Bosco, I'm new to the forum

I'm new to the Gti game but have a standard Mk8 GTi on order coming March 2023.

I have a question for the forum. I like the look of the rear spoiler of the Clubsport, but fitted to a standard Mk8 GTi

I've seen on many YouTube Channels that you can get the rear spoiler for the MK8 Clubsport and install it on to the standard Gti. Problem is getting the part. I do not want to order from the US as this will add custom and import fees.

Does anywhere in the Uk sell actual Mk8 Clubsport Rear Spoiler?  Seen a few that sell Clubsport rears but they are stick on ones . I don't want that one but VW actual parts.

My dealer said no to the idea...warranty they say. Not really sure where to go to to get the part UK wise.

Any help will be most helpful

Thanks

I'm not sure why a dealer wouldn't help. Just get a VIN / reg number from an actual Clubsport and contact a few dealers to price the part(s) you need. Don't ask them about fitting it, you just want the parts.

I just watched TR Hamza's latest YouTube video actually and he just fitted one to his R, looks like a fairly simple swap, but he did source it in USA.

I thought there was a couple of places you could just order VW spares by part number?

Looking around I see a few places in Germany you can buy them from... about a hundred euros, which is pretty cheap... I assume thats unpainted though. Probably I'd wrap it instead.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

A hundred? You must be joking. They’re about 10 times that. Anything that cheap is surely an aftermarket thing that sticks on over the existing spoiler.

My dealer was saying warranty problems with installing the part, wiring and bodywork and other excuses and because it did not come as standard with the GTi.

I did see TR Hamza's latest YouTube video about instilling the rear spoiler, changes the way the car look for sure. He did mention that the part is difficult to get hold of, that's why he got the part from America. Not going to be looking down that route thou, too expensive with Tax, import duty, delivery and all.
