Clubsport $
« on: 02 October 2022, 17:15 »
I'm not sure what's crazier, the number of low mile, single owner cars or the prices that are being asked at the moment.

At £51,995 in white or £47,995 if you prefer your delivery miles car in black.

I love mine but I doubt some of the delivery miles cars are ever going to be driven which is a great sadness.

I'd love to be proven wrong. Any takers on the forum?

I was reading an advert of a black Clubsport S the other day and it said "We purchased this car brand new and put it into storage where it's been ever since", HowManyLeft is saying 60 of them are currently SORN and 75 actively being used, so 15 are unaccounted for so are probably for sale.

Just car speculators got hold of them and that was that, much like any model with heritage and something special about it. If it helps looks at what they want for Focus RS' both £80k-£85k, although these are extremes.

Would you use it though with only 26 miles on the clock if you were lucky enough to be in a position to purchase it??

I know the very ad. I actually called about that car as I have been toying with the idea of doing a go round. It supplies on the original tyres at that price. Six year old PCS2 tyres will grip a treat! Yeah, speculators tend to treat specials as an alternate asset class but these cars can develop problems, particularly if left fuelled and not 'exercised'. They're resolvable of course but there is no mechanical sympathy, just park and profit.

I keep an eye on prices as I have an agreed value policy on mine and the insurer mumbled something about needing a tracker if the market goes over £50k.

The asking prices for a Focus RS are utterly insane. Can't say I keep up with fast Fords but I know they have a following but that much money is nuts. You're in modern Porsche GT cars and McLarens at that point.

I'd drive it but I'd only use it on journeys where I knew I could enjoy some of what the car offers. I'd have pangs of conscience hacking up and down a motorway doing dull miles. That'd be a pointless use of a car that is capable of so much more.

Mileage at some point in the life of this model will cease to be a consideration. Interesting to see how many emerge due to the state of economy - that's two speculator cars in the last month now.

That was a Northern Irish car, they had it up for sale for 6 months asking £45k.

My CSS has covered 35,000 miles or so. It is my daily driver. No intention to ever sell so for me the miles don't matter.

I suspect the 3,200 mile car from CC is the one above.

Same here. You must have one of the highest mileage cars. Here's to the next 35,000!
