Santa Pod RWYB
« on: 16 May 2021, 17:03 »
So today I went to Santa Pod Run What Ya Brung.

Well it was a long wait for just one run but worth it. Was all going ok in the pairing lanes moving along and chatting to other drivers, lots of Golf’s and Audi’s amongst others.

We then got stuck for ages and word got round a BMW had spun, hit the wall and then the other car!! All ok but closed the track for 90-120 mins while they cleared the mess. Finally got 5 cars from going on and closed us again to let bikes run and then 7/8 yo kids in their dragsters! Wow lol.

Anyway, check video when I finally got out. My mate filmed from outside too. My reaction time was shocking! And when I say shocking I mean I was shocked that the lights had changed so quickly 🤣🤣🤣. I was up against a VRS diesel that was on a stage 2 I think. He got the jump on me but reeled him in. Had a nice chat before and after and he said my time was very good for a first timer and the car!

After I watch an A45 AMG and M2 run and their times 13.4 with mine a 13.36 so good benchmark. Not sure what my 0-62 time was though as need to work out on the distance times. Terminal speed was 107.81. So about same as the R but without the 4WD 😊

Well hope you like the vids and got a nice bit of sound out of my exhaust on the change up right in front of the stand, better on the external video.

Enjoy 😁😁

It was a great experience, not that I’ll be doing it again lol

Yeah happy with that sound.

When I first heard I said to my mate, bet it’s a RWD. I was thinking oh boy 😳😳 chatting to some of the guys around and all the FWD owners saying don’t worry about it and sure enough BM RWD lol.

It was fine though. Surface better than streets obviously and as soon as I was off was straight as a die. I’d been talking to my opponent for a while before as well and he said don’t worry. My watch said HR was 105 at the start and 125 after 🤣🤣
