Here we go….First impressions are that it’s light years ahead to the Mk7.5. A real step up. It turns in so much sharper, you can’t feel the chassis has a bit of play under you too which is lovely. The pops from the exhaust are insane. It’s just on the right side of hooligan for me! It still isn’t as quick as the R was but it’s a lot more rewarding. You have to work it. Also it’s been soaking today and I’ve had zero traction issues. There doesn’t seem to be the same dead pedal travel feel as the Mk7.5. Did I love my R? Yes. Was the R dull? No. Would I see this for another R? Not a chance. It’s had so many looks and a few people stopping me to ask what it is, or what I think of it.
I love the interior so far. The seats are a thing of beauty and the tech isn’t intrusive in and way. I actually prefer the temp sliders amazingly! All in all, it’s a thing of beauty.
Really pleased you’re not disappointed with it after the mighty 7.5R which is a tough act to follow.
As you get more familiar with the chassis you’ll be surprised what it can do, you can literally breeze through bends at speeds you’d just not think possible, with total composure.
The engine seems to produce full power after around 1000km’s, there’s a noticeable change after a while.
It’s a car that likes to be taken by the scruff.
The Akra must pop and crackle far more than the standard exhaust as I don’t notice any. Mind you mine is always left in comfort aside from flicking the DSG into Sport when I need the gearbox to work with me a bit.
The fuel economy will be a bit better than the 7.5 too when you ease off the gas a bit!

The thing that gets me is that it’s practically three cars.
Bottom line, I just love it.
Enough said!
