Don't forget to ask them why you have to wait until December and whether it's to do with the Mk8 and id3 being such a pile of unresolvable problems and hand them a copy of the interview with the vw ceo that top gear did.

Those tyre sealing kits vs. traditional method should be banned IMO.

Wholeheartedly agree. Cars are full of all sorts of gizmos these days, many of which are not needed, but can't supply a spare wheel. I know it's to do with polar bears and all that (and I'm big on animal welfare BTW) but still poor show from manufacturers.

Even the smallest puncture will wreck the tyre as every tyre fitter I’ve spoken to says the gunk is practically impossible to get rid of.
Small puncture in an ok part of the tyre can be fixed for about £20 using the traditional tyre change method.

Yeah gunk gets you home but the tyre is a write off.

I'm hearing from friends and colleagues that breakdown providers no longer send recovery capable vehicles as a first call....saving those for after the initial assessment is done by a non-recovery asset.

Which means you call, say "my wheel has fallen off" or "my gearbox has seized" (my friend on his bike the other day!) and wait hours, then wait hours more because the first guy says "its gonna need recovery".... when it was bloody obvious from the outset.

Get yourself a space saver? I've got one in my Mk8....

'Man/woman on a moped' as first responder?!

At least most VWs have a dedicated space in the boot to put a spacesaver if one didn't come with the car. No option to do that in an A or C Class or a 3 Series. And not a chance in any EV I would imagine either.

Is the space saver standard fit to the recess ?

I took the spacesaver and tools out of my mk7.5 GTI performance and swopped it to my mk8 gti on collection (fits perfectly)floor is same on both.

Mad money from vw as spare part 400plus from memory!!

Yes and the sub for the HK fits into it.

 Hello all,
Late October 23 I finally fitted a set of 19" Racing Line R360 Alloys in Gunmetal Grey along with a new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6's. Also had the RL Higher Output Ignition Coils in Red fitted at the same time. I have had the RL  been R600 and associated hoses for 2 years now too. At 3 years old with 24000 on the clock, have to report all good and looks better than the awful standard fit alloys i.m.o.

Thanks Damien,
Yes think so. Not so much the PCM but I may get the engine bay accessories to finish off.
Forgot to mention the excellent GT101 in Colchester Essex who are a RL Authorised dealer amongst other things. They fitted all the RL items to my GTI since I bought it.
Tyres are performing well so far in all weathers. No additional noise noticed. Tried to keep it OEM as Eagle F1 SuperSports were the original 18" fit but preferred the Asymmetric in the larger 19's.
