I've not seen that... Unless it's a later software version or those Italians with a vw dealer login...

That's just the old mk7 style one or the other map display.

It's also the d variant hardware with 1788 software.... Standard from later bw's in 2020.

Not my Mk8 (since I don’t own one), but I found out that you can have maps on both screens today without pro nav!

uh? Am i missing something here..... what do you mean, both screens?
This car bugs me every time i get in it and now I find out that might I be missing a screen, this could be the final straw!!

Nav in dash is on Mk8's built from mid November 2020 onwards.

Not on ones before that without NavPro.

So how do you do it?
This is something i asked the dealer the other month and they didnt know the answer..... again.
They compared it to one that they had in the showroom and that one had an option that mine didnt - they didnt know why mine didnt have it though!! ha

You have B variant hardware and software version 166x.

To get the option, you need D variant hardware and software version 1788.

D variant hardware is from mid November 2020 onwards - 24hrs after my car was built.

i thought as much - I even suggested this to the dealer and they said there wasnt an update available....

obviously the dealer is useless....

if I select "update software", it just sits there searching and nothing more....





If i select |"Online download", it doesnt show anything....
