Well would you believe it. Just had an update text saying car now left factory and in transit. I can't remember if that means it's on a ship or waiting port side with its best hat and coat on ticket in hand.
The same for me...It's at stage 5b which is 'Your car is on the next stage of its journey to the UK'... Good news atleast
Given that I'm in the same situation with the dealership all on Furlough I'm not sure what my next steps are! Would be glad to hear anyone's advice on what we can do to clarify car collection.
On some of the other VAG forums I visit, customers cars that had been delivered to the dealerships just before lockdown are still sitting at the dealerships. A few customers have had trailered deliveries to their homes, but whether that option - or any other option for car collection / delivery for that matter - is feasible will depend on individual dealerships and whether they’re actually open for business or all staff are currently furloughed.
I read somewhere that lockdown restrictions on car dealerships are going to be eased next month, so if your car is delivered to the dealership next month or later, then maybe you’ll be able to collect it (or have it delivered to your home) without too many issues - that’s assuming the dealer’s workshop isn’t inundated with overdue servicing / MOT / maintenance work, which they might treat as priority over new car PDI’s. A new car handover while maintaining social distancing will be quite interesting though...........
