Mk7 end of life age poll

Now we have reached the end of the Mk7, just wondered how old your cars are?

This forum by and large used to be mainly new car owners and people considering ordering, just wondering how that's changed now.

I have owned mine since new in 2013.

I can remember the excitement around tracking the build and shipping, and then seeing my car a couple of hours after it was delivered to my dealership.

I don't think I would get much more out of a newer Golf, or indeed any other hot hatch from a rival manufacturer.

It is unlikely I shall ever buy another ICE car again; this car now lives in my garage and does longer trips or just fun journeys, whilst a Nissan LEAF 40  is my daily driver.

I am a pre-booker for a VW ID.3 1st and if I get this (or when I get something else electric) only then will I be selling this car.

That's interesting.

We definitely are getting into that time now.

I'm getting one last ICE car this year, then I anticipate thats the end of it.

The Mk8 Golf afaik is the last Golf VW will make...

The end is drawing near.

That is interesting.... and slightly sad, end of an era and all that!

My issue with electric is the range and infrastructure for charging! I appreciate things will start to move fast now but I'm still thinking in a few years when I'm ready for a change I'll be going hybrid as we like our holidays down south and don't want to sit at the services half way for 4-5hrs.... really hoping that mk8 GTE looks good in the flesh!!
