Discounts on TCR?
« on: 25 December 2019, 19:32 »
Merry Christmas everyone.

I have a question so thought I’d come to the best place to have it answered!

Anyone know what the discounts are like on nearly new TCRs at main dealers? I know there’s loads around that don’t seem to be shifting.

Thanks in advance.

Try drive the deal, that'll give you a good idea. Just watch out for the £40k tax threshold, doesn't take many options to fall foul...

Thanks Watts.

Always use DTD for new cars as it’s saved me £££ in the past. Not sure how useful it’ll be for a used car though.

Ah, yes, I should've read your post more carefully! There does seem some pretty good deals on Autotrader, starting sub £28k now...

Try Joe Knight at T L Darby, if you’re looking at new. If used then as you say, loads around so try a haggle

Thanks atlasgrey. I’ve tried Joe on new cars and he was great with discount but the trade in was very poor. It’s not a new one I’m after. Just wondered if anyone had direct experience of achievable discounts on used TCR.

TCR has been around how long?

"nearly new" always sucks price wise.

I remember looking at year old cars just for comparison and they were not much different to the DTD price, which is ridiculous.

........and, on top of that, the finance rates on “used” cars are much worse. It’s so hard to be sensible these days!

On up to one year old its something to do with the depreciation being roughly in line with the markup a dealer wants on a used car - well that's my theory.
