And a couple of the guys who work there have changed the tank as a precaution on there own cars.

We’re these bags installed in all Golfs including MK7.5 models ?

On 7Zap the part number is 5Q0121407A for the reservoir tank. Do you know the part number they fitted?

My 2013 Mk7  GTi does not have this silica pack as far as I can see. Had a good look last night with a torch in the garage. I had thermostat housing failure in the car last year which resulted in no heating in cabin and engine not heating up to temp. They also changed out coolant temp sensor.

My very late 16 car, had one, it took around 15 minutes to remove bottle, silica pad and top up coolant afterwards.


*I will place an ad in the classifieds soon for the silica bag in case anyone needs a spare? :)

My May 2015 car does have it. I''m going to leave well alone as with my clumsiness I'll burst it trying to get it out.
