Yeah I asked about that but it was quicker to do the swap with my current insurance company. Just had to go through the manual car selection.

Congratulations to everyone collecting their cars. Would i be right in thinking these are the first of the 68 plate GTIs?
Has anyone been asked to pay additional tax for manual cars?

When I spoke to the dealer today he explained the road tax had increased but "obviously we will foot that cost". He was pretty good about it and apologised for the length of time, so can't say fairer than that.

Ok, thanks. Will be collecting mine on Saturday morning ( manual), I have only had an 11 week wait for mine, i was quoted 26 weeks when I ordered. Dealer didn’t mention anything about tax when we spoke today, so hopefully no issue

Picked my new baby up this evening, the dealer honoured the seventh month old trade in value as well which I was pleased with.

Only done about 40 miles and had a little tinker with the normal/sport/individual settings but not much else - so much more tech than my old car it's mind blowing.

Definitely made the right choice though, looking forward to exploring more in the coming weeks! Will learn how to upload photos too!

Totally agree on the tech. Coming from a mk5 gti it's got a lot.

Managed to get most of it setup including car net and android auto then thought I'd try mirrorlink. That didn't go so well so ended up resetting the lot and starting again this time giving the mirrorlink a miss lol
