My thoughts exactly. It does the hot hatch driver focused thing v well. But, I love the way that a vag hatch can do nearly everything exceptionally well. For me, and most people here, that’s one of the reasons we love these cars. Basically, I went to look at it because of the amazing reviews it’s been getting. It’s well worth a go if you can find one to drive. The badge of the i30N doesn’t bother me in the slightest. If you love cars, you’ll love the i30N. Just couldn’t live with it.

Only one used on Autotrader, 18-reg performance with minimal miles for £24,495, so residuals holding up ok so far and with so few on the market, I'd suggest they're likely to continue to hold up ok

Sounds more like someone chancing it while there aren't many - what's the availability of them like? 6 month wait? WLTP problems?

Just had a call from them with a new offer of £390pm. They said there wasn’t a real wait for the car. In fact I could have one within two weeks. Not sure if this was an order or one they have in stock. Probably the latter as there are v few options to be had. Colour, winter pack and that’s your lot I think.

Is it really harsh and jittery like one of the Renault Sport Megane's or a Focus RS?

How does the internal space size compare to a Golf?

I genuinely would consider one of these if the timings for my next Golf don't work out...

Maybe that or the dreaded Type R....

But I've not driven any of those.

Never driven an RS or any Renault Sport but it really stood out as soon as I pulled out of the dealers. My S3, which is a bit like a pogo stick, was like a limo in comparison! To be honest though I drove around entirely in N mode. It’d be difficult to use that mode on normal roads.

Room in the back was ok, probably a little less than the Gti’s I’ve had. No air vent in the back wick seems a bit mean to rear passengers.

The interior leather is artificial and you can tell.

Boot space is comparable to a gti. But there’s a stiffening brace in the boot which gets in the way if you want to fold the seats flat.

I would still consider one but I’ll wait to see the TCR, new ST or an R before making my mind up.

If you like hot hatches, and we all do, it’s definitely worth a drive. Have a go Fred!

Boot brace? Bar across the tops of the rear shocks?

If so, thats what makes it have a harsh old ride - I had an Almeria GTI with that. Stuck to the road like glue, but was harsh.

Also a pain when it came to big boot loads with the seats down!

Apparently, you can take it out relatively easily.

Car stuck to the road well but managed to spin the wheels on a couple of occasions.

Be interesting to hear your thoughts Fred if you get chance to take one for a spin.

Hmmm the Nissan one didn't come out - or at least I wasn't aware it would in the years I had that car.

My interest is big here, I might go see Hyundai next week to see if I can have a play :D
