I believe if you pull back the label on the VW screen wash bottle it will say 1:4 summer use. Fine as long as it doesn't get really cold. I was told that the screen wash bottle in the car can rupture if the water in it freezes.

Only if it's full with no room for the contents to expand as it freezes.

I too use the VW stuff and dilute as per the label and ambient temperature. But, I decant first into a 5l old water bottle which lives outside near my car so a clear early warning against freezing. Never had a problem though.

Good idea unless it's in reach of children. :undecided:

Kids are banned from my property  Still, good point, it isn't obvious though and would require a fair bit of rummaging to find. Biggest problem is my OH topping her car up from it and not telling me when she has used it all

No, it was water, honest

I had a 28 litre keg of home pressed cider in the garage. Pretty powerful stuff. I would let my lad have a small amount at the weekend under my supervision...or so I thought. One Friday night I went upstairs to find him in the bathroom with about 4 pints of it along with what he had eaten for tea all over the floor.
