Peed off at VW
« on: 08 January 2018, 17:26 »
So my car is freezing cold in the morning as the heater on drivers side isn't working.
It went in for diagnostic before Christmas and they think it's one of the two matrix but don't know which.
Here is where the problem starts.

To properly diagnose the issue they need the car in to strip the dash to get to it, which for me is a massive issue as I am a driving instructor so need the car, however the part it could be is on back order with no date when it won't be (remember they don't know which matrix until they strip the car) so my car could be off the road for some time that is unknown.

I have spoke with VW UK, hoping for some resolve but no.
So I am left with a freezing cold car with no way of getting it fixed until the part comes off back order, which could be never due to lack of demand.

Peed off is putting it politely.

I bet, can't help wish I could. Maybe some on here can. True though unless you have some sort of relationship with the dealer they treat you like s***. I always try to befriend an individual in the service dept. Not suggesting come on to one of the young ladies or men! But you must do some mileage and see them quite a lot. If you are an instructor and I know one quite well, they are placid souls and have to be. Maybe go and kick new car in their showroom, it might do the trick?

Can you hire a dual control car? Must be difficult.

Is the car in warranty?

Providing the repair is being covered under Volkswagen manufacturer warranty (3 years/60k) repairing are able to request you a replacement vehicle (like for like where possible), they will accommodate adaptations such as hand/disability controls, and also dual controls too for driving instructors. This is for the duration of repairs including back ordered parts etc.

If any issues drop me a PM.

MK7.5 Golf GTI Performance, DSG, Indium Grey, DCC, 19" Brescia Alloys, Dynaudio, Jacara Cloth Interior

Yes the car is in warranty, 41k miles and it's a June 16 plate.

They have offered a "normal car for courtesy, but that can't be used for tuition" but can duals be request and likely get?
