My GTI Performance arrived at the dealer this week. Saw it in the dealer compound today - lovely. Picking up on Friday. Exciting.
However - there has been an error in the build. My dealer has acknowledged that, despite recording my added extras correctly at the time of order (late August), they have omitted to enter the DCC option on the actual factory order. Hence the car has been built without DCC. All my other options are fine. I didn't get told this until today and, to be fair to the sales guy he was mortified about telling me. He gave me the option of refusing the car and re-ordering but I can't be facing another 4 month wait so I'm taking the car as built.
I'm disappointed but I suppose the upside is I've saved £880 and the monthly payments are reduced. The dealer has agreed to "compensate" me by giving me a £250 John Lewis voucher, front and rear floor mats and a full tank of fuel as well as the no-cost option of changing the service interval to long life/20,000 miles rather than the standard 1 year/10k with 2 services paid for.
Question - do you think I've got a fir deal here or would you have pushed for more? (I'm thinking of asking them to throw a dog guard in)
Views?
BTW - spec is GTI Performance, DSG, Atlantic Blue, Dynaudio, Keyless, 19" Brescia. Lovely looking car - first Atlantic Blue I've ever seen. The red accents show up really nice against the blue. Can't wait to drive it Friday.
