Had a few instances where OBD11 and Carista can't do quite as much as VCDS. Recently on an A3 (MY17) where it failed to turn on audible locking confirmation. With some stuff they are a little behind in implementing (to do with them needing to implement ASAM data).
Though I'd say it's a feasible and cheaper alternative but would recommend to write down all changes as it doesn't keep a log (like VCDS or VCP do on the PC) so you can revert back to original if you have to or want to for any reason.

You may be right, but in the context of a mk7 Golf OBDeleven did activate acoustic locking for me. Also, there is a history of all changes made which I have made use of. And it's only £40.

Obdeleven is only £40 ?

Obdeleven is not as feature rich as VCDS, particularly on the diagnostics side, no question about that, but for the money it covers the majority of adaptations and a good level of diagnostics. Well worth the money.

I have done way more on my Mk7 with OBDeleven pro than I ever did with my VCDS in my CC's

VCDS is great if your doing it as a weekly thing or have different VAG cars but if you only have a Mk7 then I'd pick the OBDeleven every time, and for the the extra price if the pro it's a no brainer to get that.

Long choosing may look a bit daunting at first but it is easy as hell if you follow the many guides  on here and other forums and make sure you do a backup first..

On that link theres obdeleven  £35 and then a pro pack do i need both ?

Go to Booth11's link and scroll towards the bottom and buy both the OBDeleven £35.10 and the pro key £21.93 and your done. The pro key is just a code written on the little bag that it comes in.

No the pro key is a onetime thing, it is for the OBDeleven that you get. You download the app from the google app store and register your details to log into it, you can use your facebokk or twitter logins if you want but you don't have to. When you've logged into it you can then enter your pro code.

My bad, it's €40 plus the pro key. You can buy this code at a later date if not sure.

Yes, but even if you could do it without the pro code you would have to pay to get the credits to do it. For the extra money it costs for the pro I wouldn't dream of not getting the pro key.
