When the stealer asked how much it was, he laughed and didn't pester me any more.

Thanks for those links  - I was meaning to do some quotes for our upcoming new Audi A4 in September, so gives me plenty ammo to use to negotiate substantially down from the figure I was provided with when I ordered the car last month

Five like for like comparisons for full vehicle replacement cover against full list price of £36,925

Audi dealer quote for GAP Plus: £399
Click4Gap quote: £325 - www.click4gap.co.uk
ALA quote: £230 (using PISTON12 discount code) - www.ala.co.uk
Direct GAP quote: £209 - www.directgap.co.uk
Gap123 quote: £175 - https://gapinsurance123.co.uk

Has anyone gone for the tyre replacement for accidental damage to up to five tyres over the 3 years?

Another one I just found is via a cashback site - free to register using my link https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/phope

https://www.topcashback.co.uk/gap-cover-insurance/

They've just quoted £188 for the same cover as my Audi A4 quotes, but with a further £25.75 cashback to me as well making it a net £163

It's too late for my car but I may well have a new car on the way so I will read up a bit more about it.

I went with ALA who beat the cheapest quote. £192 for 4 years cover instead of £350 for 3 years cover which is what VW was trying to sell me. Don't let VW put you off. The salesmen was trying to tell me that you can't get 4 year GAP insurance and he's seen instances where these companies don't pay out.

Anyway, I absolutely love the car. Just brilliant. Well worth the wait!

I wonder if the salesman would've been able to substantiate his statement regarding non-payment of claim by other GAP insurers? Highly unlikely, and undoubtably the standard sales tactic to try and get the customer to buy the expensive VW GAP product.

Congratulations on the new car; hope you'll put some pictures up

Gap 123 also refunded me the balance of the premium when I sold my car before it expired - top service!

Will get the pictures up soon just waiting for some sun! Can't wait to see what the white silver looks like when the weathers a bit better.

Anyone debating at whether to get the velour trim. Get it! Everyone who's got in it so far first thing they comment on are the seats.
