I am lucky in the sense of supermarket shopping as our local Tesco has a few parking spaces with narrow chevrons either side which you can double park half on chevron/parking space to widen the parking space further.  I have been very careful where I park.  My wife will often roll her eyes as I search for that ever so rare larger space which will avoid any potential damage frrom other cars.  I feel all of your pain when you had sustained the damage to your cars.  The first thing which entered my head when i thought it was damaged was when does the local body repair/paint shop open and how much will it cost for Oryx White to be resprayed this time (will it be over £300+, the same as last time).  Luckily I managed to avoid this happening by the skin of my teeth.

That's the space I always go for also

That Range Rover would have four flat tyres if it parked next to me like that
And the driver would get a flat nose if he had a problem with it

What about this today. For the life of me I have no idea how she got out of the car. Luckily there was absolutely no marks on my car. I parked away from the car and hey presto 20 minutes later see came out and got into her car only to reverse like the rather old person she was.

Cropped the photo to save covering the other people's number plates.

I can forgive the oldies to a degree, it's mostly incompetence rather than ignorance or malice.

On a quick trip to Sainsburys this afternoon I parked up with no cars either side. Came out to see cars on both sides with plenty other empty bays. But what annoyed me was the driver in the car on my left sat in his car with his drivers door wide open almost touching my car. He saw me approach and didn't bat and eyelid. He then watched me open my boot and obviously heard me slam it closed. He then watched me get in my car and heard me start my engine. Still he didn't move his door. It was only when I gave him a loud bib of the horn did he notice I couldn't get my wing mirror past his open door

Sorry but I don't forgive them. If anyone, whatever age can't drive properly then they have no place on our roads. I've had friends killed by sh!t drivers when they were on their motorbikes.

I have the upmost respect for my elders but I don't think they or anyone should be allowed to drive unless they are able.

Sorry, rant over.

Totally respect your point. If someone's general standard of driving is so bad that they're a risk to others then i'd agree they shouldn't be on the road. However if someone was apologetic and was in all other regards a respectful and responsible driver I think I would be inclined to go a little easy on them for the occasional time they struggle to get their car straight in a parking bay if there was no damage. It's rudeness, ignorance or denial that get by back up.

Totally agree. Christ, I've parked up and got out and looked back at my car and thought 'I nearly parked that' but I move it and it wouldn't be parking beside another car.

Going off on a slight tangent the other day i parked at our local supermarket Ipulled my car in to one of those larger semi chevron spaces only to discover when halfway in to the space there was a trolley slightly protruding in to the space.  So I got out of my car (engine still running) to move the trolley.  While moving the trolley the middle aged woman from the Range Rover parked in the space the other side of the chevron area dumped her trolley next to the one I was literally just moving.  I had a bit of a rant at her....   But how ignorant and lazy can you get.  She drove off mid rant pretending i didn't exist and I ended up moving two trolleys to the trolley bay.  Just like bad parking, trolleys being left in parking spaces is another one of my pet gripes.
