Thanks for all the replies and input on this thread.  I'm still undecided whether to stick with tungsten or change, if I do I think it'll be to pure white.

I think the GTI & GTD suit the more traditional colours such as white and red best.

For me it is between red, tungsten silver and oryx white if I take the option of a replacement car for mine.

If it wasn't for the wife's input I would've likely ordered Red myself.  Oryx looks great but I'm not sure we have enough sunny days to make it worthwhile.

It's £420 extra so if you're keeping the car for 3 years it is £140 per year. I think it priced okay on the Golf, it was nearly £1300 when I got it on my CC a number of years ago. I thought that at least I wouldn't see another one in it that often and within 6 months there was 3 CC's in oryx in a radius of 5 miles of me
