I have finally taken the plunge and placed an order on a GTI Performance Pack.

Placed the order on the 14th July.

How long did it take for you to get a build week added to the progress? I am at stage 2 - "With the factory".

The dealer gave me an expected time scale of 16 weeks. Are these normally accurate?

I think these build weeks might come forward, its due to a delay on the rear lights in most instances and I think they are being conservative in the estimates

Bear in mind your order depends on how clued up your salesman is to ordering process, he should be able to modify an existing order for gti and give you a build week at point of order unless your retailer is completely sold out of gti. Not having a build week for gti at point of order is not a good sign.

Just to give you a heads up, James at JCB Medway emailed me the below earlier this week, it looks like some of us should start getting confirmed build weeks very soon fingers crossed:

The Golf we have ordered for you does have a confirmed build week for its production at the factory during week 32, 7th-13th August, due to the factory currently being on partial summer shutdown our factory order system has not fully updated with this information, so this is why it is currently showing at stage two on the tracking website, it is actually at stage three.

I'm guessing I'm looking at Mid October delivery, still waiting for a build week.
