Mk7 to facelift parts fitting.
« on: 15 April 2017, 07:28 »
1) Are the seats in the facelift the same in fitting not design?

2) If yes to the above then will the seats from a 3 door fit a 5 door?

3) Will an aftermarket exhaust(rear section) fit from a Mk7 to a facelift?

Thanks

The facelift is so superficial that I expect the answer is generally yes to any questions like that.

However I don't think 3 door/5 door seats are a like for like swap, facelift or not. The 3 door seat has the lever on them to slide forward for rear access.

So do you think the seats wouldn't fit? I knew about the 3 door having the easy access fold bit but would the seat runners not be the same? Basically I know where there is a full set of leather seats with door cards and armrest and as my next car is going to be a 3 door facelift GTi I thought it would be a good idea to pick them up and possibly fit the seats into the GTD for the next few months.

As for the exhaust I was always going to get a twin exhaust for the GTD but as I'm going to be changing in a bit I thought if the exhaust is the same then I might as well get it done now and then when I get the GTi it can be put on that.

You getting a GTI already so soon after just collecting your GTD ?

Don't you like it or does your user name say it all ?

When I ordered the GTD I was looking at driving 50-60k miles a year but by the time I took delivery I knew it was going to change to less than 10k miles a year and as I buy my own fuel. Do I like the GTD, yes I think it is a great car espically with the pedal box and crd3+ tuning box but as my user name says I wanted a GTi

I'll be keeping the GTD as well for a while and my wife will drive it.
