GTD MK7 oil leak
« on: 04 April 2017, 12:03 »
I've suffered from a huge oil leak basically parked up yesterday afternoon and noticed a small puddle under the car took the dipstick out and very little oil in the car. Had a look this morning and it seems everything has leaked out now, dipstick is dry no oil at all.

Last drive was local in the City no major bumps or anything but in the space of 12 hours it seems everything has leaked out not sure what is going on.

I had the car serviced about 8 week ago, don't know if it is related or not. It's still not over 3 years old so under warranty. Can't start it or anything now as it will ruin my engine.

Anyone had any experience of something similar or any ideas what could cause such a leak the car basically has 0 oil left. All was fine yesterday morning just one big leak that has come out of nowhere.

Got VW Assist cover?

Need to get the car in the air to look underneath rather than guess. Either way it needs to be recovered to a garage!

Hit up @VWUKHelp on twitter. Explain that the car was just serviced and now is loosing oil. See if they can get another dealer to help.

VW are usually much better with a "car off the road" situation, so I am surprised at your dealer. Does he not want to stay in business? I'd put him under a bit of pressure on this! They should, at least, recover the car and have a looksee.

Who is it - do you mind saying?

I don't believe their response is adequate. You should contact VW Customer Service, either here:

or via the Twitter handle mentioned above. They are very good and usually get a very swift result!

Agreed with all above also an idea to check with the garage that did the service.. does or  did the sump plug get replaced or fitted incorrectly or even loose....

Just an idea
