Drop it off?
I would insist they pick it up, pronto.

Massive leak this soon after service suggests a mishap during service.
On another note - do you not get breakdown cover from VW if you stick to service regime and go to mains dealer?
You do in Germany and quite a few other EU markets - or have they already gone the same way Mondelez have with Toblerone?

If as you say the dipstick shows no oil how do they expect you to drop it off!!
To put oil in is gonna cost £30 ish not sure exactly and for that to possibly run straight through I as already said it requires collecting on a recovery truck and if you so put the oil in and drive and lose the oil and the engine goes bang who's going to be at fault!!!!!
I would only assume your dealer won't take responsibility.
Not trying to put you off but requires thinking about

Had a similar thing on a family members golf took about 6 weeks and all of a sudden there was a puddle of oil turned out they had not tightened the drain bolt and it had come lost to the point it was left on the under tray 6 weeks later..

Good advice that, if you drive it and it goes bang they are going to say that you drove it knowing it didn't have oil.

Sorry to hear this, i had the very same experience.

2 weeks after a service and just as i was getting home the oil light came on. Parked up and discovered oil steadily dripping and accumulating along the undertray.

Apparently the gasket on the oil filter had 'failed' (not fitted correctly...?)

I filled with oil and it got me back to the dealer that did the service.

They rectified, steam cleaned the engine and replaced the oil i purchased.

I hope u get sorted to your satisfaction.

Sounds like the fitter didn't read the bit where he was told to put a drop of oil on his finger and rub it around the filter ring.

To those who are filthy, I'm not talking about a body part.

Thanks guys, must say very disappointed in VW this is an error caused by them for me they made the change 2 months ago.

I will get the car taken on a recovery truck and have it dropped off there. There is no oil and even if i top it up by the time i get there it will be close to half.

The least i expect them is to own up to their error, correct it and top the oil up but i can see me having to fight for this one as they don't seem the sort of bunch who will own up.

You guys have been really helpful today so thanks for the advice.
