Great job you’re doing there with the database Damian and Andrew.  I’m 2nd owner of 224 and it’s now in Aberdeenshire.  Was registered in January 2017, air con and Pure White.

Re-visited my database over the week and have re-structured it somewhat, turned into a right task in the end but guess if your going to do something may as well do it properly so now it's much more detailed, capturing a vast amount of data per build no.

Had some 6,376 images alone plus numerous files and whilst you won't see any of this below, as this is meant to be a snapshot summary, it exists. Picking up anything, little dents noticed, stickers on cars, changes of wheels/tyres, even the caps for the wheels whether there factory issue or not, any little thing. Think I've got issues.

Summary and culmination of all my files, hopefully it appears presentable.

Anyone remember Karsten Schebsdat (left), the chassis engineer that was behind the Clubsport S?
Well I bumped into him at the 'ring recently and he told me had CSS number 10 (white).
I asked if Comfort mode dampers were set up differently to when they are in comfort mode in 'ring mode and the answer was yes.  He gave me a long technical answer emphasising that this DCC is very different to the modern version with its 15 increments, he implied it was more adaptive and could do different damping at different times.



Incidentally the chap on the right is Sebastian Willman who is in charge of chassis development now Karsten has retired and is a top bloke, I'd say the future of the GTI is in very good hands now, well until legislators mess it all up...

Only done 4900 miles but will using it rather than storing it, so just finished the usual new owner stuff: wheel arch liners out and Dynax UC over everything, new wiper blades, battery, OBDeleven,and key fob batteries, and a fresh tank of super unleaded

Welcome to the..errr...Clubsport club!  I think that is the car that I collected from the seller who was a long term VW enthusiast and also had 2 GTI bikes no less! Very nice and proper car. Last owner kept it in a secret underground car park near Wandsworth with loads of special cars that I couldn't photograph.

Poor thing is in for a bit of a shock after such a pampered life (it’s hardly ventured outdoors but has had seven services). Off to Scotland next month - although I may tuck it up for the worst of the winter.

There certainly appears to be a large proportion of UK cars which just don’t get used.  Each to their own I guess but I bought mine to experience the joy of driving it whereas others appear to get their pleasure from just looking at them 🤷‍♂️  Anyway, where are you venturing to in Scotland?
