Right so I'm just consulting the wife about my impending big purchase of the BBS SR 19's and she's made a valid point.

Will the 19's not affect the structure of the car as it's coming with a panroof..? As this is the reason I couldn't add the Santi's cus of panroof.

Thoughts and advice please before I press the green light...

Just been on the VW configurator, if you spec. a Golf R with 19" alloys it will allow you to spec. a sunroof as well,  also this is applicable to the Clubsport edition also. Why it doesn't allow you to have this on a GTI may well be a question to be put to VW CS

The official line was that sunroof plus Santiagos put the emissions into the next group up on a UK registered GTI from what I remember.

If the difference between 18" and 19" with a sunroof made a structural difference to a car I would not be thinking of buying that car. If you think about it what great difference could it make to impact on the structural strength of the car? That's a bit like saying I can hit a 4" pothole at 40mph with 17" wheels but only 20mph with 19" wheels.

It was nothing to do with rigidity, it was vehicle weight versus emissions at the time.

Brilliant, thank you and all others who have set my Mrs mind at ease.

I'm not one to ask a lot of questions and then not follow through...so I have now put my money where my mouth is and ordered.

I've ordered BBS SR 19's in Satin Himalaya Grey.

I will be buying the rubber separately. I'm running F1 Eagles Ass2 on my current shadows but fancy a change so I'm going to be running Conti's on the SR's.

Thanks all for your helpful advice and knowledge. I will be tracking down some bolt covers for them and of course put pics up.  :cool:

The standard Nogaros look really good with spacers but the SR's will give it that extra something in the mean and moody looks department.
