reverse gear.

hi guys another problem,just got home went to select reverse gear,nothing no crunch just nothing all forward gears are fine go in easily clutch is good disengages and engages fine.reverse was ok when i left work,just when i got home,it just feels like there is alock stoping it going in to gear any ideas welcome  cheers.

Check the selector tower. Had a customers tdi once that use to pop out because the tower was worn

ok thanks will do,but would that only affect reverse and none of the forward gears which are fine and smooth engaging.  cheers.

From memory yes, its how the tower has to move to select reverse.
If you get someone to try reverse and you look at the selector tower youll see if its slipped out. Also you can look at the cables to see if ones come unclipped of the bracket and just not moving where it should
