I've had two white mk7's in a row now and was considering a third (GTD just so I could say I owned all three models!

) so therefore spent far too much time sat at work looking on the VW used car lists to see what colour I'd go for again.
And it was white.
I still think the mk7 looks best in white, even after nearly four years of production I've not got bored of it.
A bit like jeans really, jeans just look right in mid to darkish blue and mk7 Golfs just look right in white. Simple as that.
Extras? Meh, depends on how long you plan on keeping the car and how much money you want to flush down the toilet at the end of your ownership versus how much enjoyment you get out of them.
You pay a good few hundred quid a year for golf club membership or a football season ticket purely for enjoyment and it's the same with extras on a car. It's dead money but but it's your money so if you are going to enjoy something or find it useful then go for it.
I love the look of Santiagos but would hate cleaning them in winter. All those fiddly mini spokes having to be scrubbed with your backside hovering above a puddle of cold water. EEK!
I think if I was to spec again I'd look back to 2013 when I ordered my first mk7 and get exactly the same things. Basic nav which is standard now, PP and park assist (park pack now).
The only change from my April 2013 order would be two extra doors as my garage is very narrow and opening the longer door was a bit of a challenge to get out.
Mind you, I see a tungsten GTI most weeks driven by an older guy with lots of extras on it and it does look smart when the sun is shining.
I'd still go for white though.
God I'm boring.
