For the benefit of anyone reading this, mine started doing it with alarming regularity, like every other day. It of course disables comfort closing and opening of the windows by remote, which is a feature i like to use. Shipped in into VW for some other warranty work, and it's been diagnosed as a faulty window motor. Motor replaced under warranty, and Car seems OK so far. See how it goes.
