Yeah I hope they don't pre-fold them... Could it be down to the Recaro buckets? In any case it looks like it will not make it here before my scheduled vacation and this will be just the thing I need when I'm away... (did it arrive? what is the dealer doing to it?? we should probably go back tomorrow!!!)  :undecided:

I would say enjoy your holiday. You will eventually get your car and once you do all the fretting and frustration of waiting will be forgotten.

For my current GTI PP, when I ordered it in 2013 I was told I would get the car after 3 months from order.  Then 3 months came and went and it ended up being close to 6 months. The duration of the time waiting was really frustrating and I got really inpatient ringing VW all the time and constantly checking the tracker.  Then when i got the car I forgot all about the 6 month wait and loved every minute of the car.  I was not used to waiting so long and with the lack of info from VW on the progress of my car it only made the matter a lot worse.

Following my previous experience with ordering a car from VW I decided to chill out a bit more next time I ordered a car which happens to be this year when I ordered a Golf R in April.  I was told it would take around 5.5 months+ from order to delivery.  I have not rung VW once and just accepted it will take a long while and When they are ready to get around to building it I will be notified which I have (infact the build is earlier than predicted).  I have been keeping an eye on the tracker now and again, but not every minute like last time as it just ends up a case of winding myself up about something I cannot do anything about.

The morale of this post is to accept your car will turn up soon and when it does it will be a great memorable day.  But until then try to not let VW's lack of info and shifting around dates wind you up as it did me as it seems this is what they do.  As mentioned earlier enjoy your holiday and relax then when you do finally get your car hope you enjoy it.

I agree, I should profit from the vacation as much as possible or I'll regret it later. I'm just wondering what is the special items that the Clubsport needs to have fitted elsewhere.

Also, I wouldn't like the idea of the car arriving just a couple of days after I leave, and sitting parked outside in the dealer's lot for nearly a month till I'm back, but I guess if it just so happens, there's not much to do about it...

I was the same, i ordered a focus ST when they first came out years ago and i was so impatient, phoning the dealer hassling every week , that took almost 9 months from order to delivery! and then about a year into ownership i fell ill and lost my driving licence  :embarrassed:

So my First Gti order was almost the same, i was really excited and again quite impatient but it didnt take as long, and it seemed once it had been built it really came through pretty fast, again ive had a lay off from driving...

This time with the Clubsport im not as impatient, i take things a lot cooler than i used too and shrug most things off and have the attitude now of it will come when it comes...

I am not certain what the special items which would warrant fitting in second factory.  But one can only assume it would be the select clubsport items not available or on the regular GTI.  For example would it be the Bucket Seats, Centre Console modification, lack of ambient lights in the door cards, Exhaust, unique upholstery seating for clubsport, etc,.  It could be any number of the kit unique to the clubsport which could otherwise slow down the production line of regular/performance golfs.

I'm 99% sure its the black roof only that is finished on a secondary production line.

That was mentioned on the German forums already.

Its the only unique thing the CS has that could not be incorporated into the current production line build apparently.

Mine hasn't got a black roof, and is one of the earliest UK build weeks so it would make sense.

That would make sense.  Especially if it's a vinyl wrap.

Well I haven't specced a black roof either...    So I'm either getting it for free, or there is something else going on...

I ordered my CS on 14th April and finally I'm picking it up tomorrow

I've received a "nice walk around the car" video from the the dealer but one thing i noticed is that the seat belts fitted don't have the red stripes along the edges

Can anyone who has already taken UK delivery confirm if they have red edge stripes on the seat belts, or are they just plain black? I cannot find any information online that the spec states red edged seat belts but have read and seen in quite a few online reviews that they are.

Has anyone any info to confirm red edged seat belts, maybe in a brochure or something?

Thanks, Mark
