Yeh looks very like the GTi one. With the honeycomb and they way it extends round the bumper. Better picture seen on this thread. They have them in the US but wouldn't ship to the UK. http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18207

Has sootchucker seen this one?
He was hard at work looking for the holy grail of GTD diffusers and that one looks to be just the thing. Good price too.

Young Andrew, Exonian, you charmer......I'm probably older than most of you on here

Yes, I found the original diffuser but it was only available in the states or Canada. Golfhappy did the detective work and found a European supplier in France for the same item.

I've taken a gamble and ordered it and when (and if) it arrives, I'll post up some photos and a review. Glad I ordered it on a CC in case it doesn't turn up (which I'm sure it will).

Whilst on the subject, it seems that if I want to mount it OEM like, I'll need some extra fittings for the area just rear of the wheel-arches where the diffuser wraps around to the rear wheel (that obviously the GTD one doesn't currently do).

I heard I could just use tie wraps but I believe on the GTI models there are two plastic brackets on either side (see image below - which isn't great but hopefully explains the part I'm referring to).

Does anyone have a version of ETKA that can let me know the part numbers of the brackets and the fixings for this please ?

There's a story attached to the tie wraps. I like you knew about those brackets but i was too late between the making of my original exhaust and ordering them. So i got 4 nice stainless bolts from work, washers etc. So when i produced them the guy that did the exhaust said " no i'll use cable ties, they're the new hose clip you know" i just had a chuckle to myself!

On the GTI there are two plastic U shaped parts, one on each side and they hold the diffuser, the lower edge of the rear bumper and the lower edge of the wheel arch protection together. There are also two screws which hold everything together. You can get a good picture on what I'm on about by looking at the Remus Catback installation video. https://youtu.be/gbcrRqM57HI?t=1m20s

Talking about German quality (or the lack of quality) I was surprised to see that I am missing both screws on the left when I installed my Remus catback exhaust and quad tip diffuser.

Why do GTD owners want their car to look like a GTI ?
Am I missing something?

Don't know, I have a gti and prefer the two pipes on one side like the gtd than one one either side like the gti (it loooks daft to me, I find it irritating)
